Empty 1,000 L IBC tote, 264 gallon, food grade

The standard intermediate bulk container. One tote holds 1,000 litres, which is the same as five 210 L drums with a quarter of the handling. The HDPE bottle sits inside a welded steel cage on a pallet base, so a forklift or a pallet jack moves it and you can stack them when they are empty.

This listing is the container on its own. If you want it filled, add the water to your cart separately. We fill totes with distilled, deionized, demineralized or spring water at our Mississauga plant.

A full tote weighs about a tonne. That is worth saying out loud before you decide where it is going to sit, because a floor that carries a stack of pallets does not automatically carry a tote.

Drums win when the water has to be in several places at once. The tote wins on almost everything else, and it wins decisively on handling.

Filling and refilling

Bring the tote to 950 Verbena Road, Mississauga, Monday to Friday 8:00 to 15:30, and we will fill it while you wait. We also deliver filled totes across the GTA on our own trucks. Because a filled tote is dense, freight on it is reasonable, so it is worth asking for a quote even if you are outside our normal delivery area.

Common questions

Is this tote food grade?
Yes. The bottle is food grade HDPE and it is suitable for drinking water storage.

Can you fill it with distilled water?
We can. Distilled, deionized, demineralized and spring water are all available as tote fills, distilled at our own plant and tested before it goes in.

How heavy is a full one?
About 1,000 kg of water plus roughly 60 kg of container. Check what your floor and your forklift are rated for.

Do you take totes back?
Bring it back for a refill any time. We do not buy used totes.

Do you deliver outside the GTA?
Ask. Water is dense so it freights economically, which is the opposite of empty bottles, and we can often be competitive well past our own routes.

We run our own trucks across the Greater Toronto Area. Pick your city for delivery days and local detail: Mississauga, Toronto, Brampton, Oakville, Vaughan, Markham, Burlington and Milton. Pickup is free at 950 Verbena Road, Mississauga, Monday to Friday 8:00 to 15:30.
