Deionized Water for Car Washes and Detailers

Hard GTA tap water leaves white spots on paint and glass as it dries. Deionized water has those minerals removed, so a final rinse with it dries clean. Puretap supplies deionized and distilled water to car washes, detailers, fleet wash bays and dealerships across the GTA, from our own plant at 950 Verbena Road in Mississauga.

Why deionized water for a final rinse

  • No water spots: with the minerals gone, there is nothing left behind when the water dries
  • Less towel drying: faster turnaround on every vehicle
  • Safer on coatings: no mineral residue on ceramic coatings, glass or chrome
  • Longer equipment life: less scale in pumps, nozzles and pressure washers

Most detailers start with a drum or a tote and refill it on a schedule. Bring your own clean container to our plant, or buy one from us and we deliver it full. Mobile detailers often keep a tote at the shop and fill a smaller tank from it each morning.

Prices on this page are a reference only. They may change with your delivery location or with economic disruptions such as fuel price increases. Your written quote confirms the final price.

Running your own DI system?

Many wash bays run their own resin tanks, and the resin wears out faster with hard water. Delivered deionized water is a backup when your resin is spent, or a simpler option for a smaller shop that does not want to maintain a system. Common questions

Why use deionized water to wash a car?

Tap water contains minerals that stay on the paint as it dries and leave spots. Deionized water has those minerals removed, so a final rinse with it dries without spotting.

Is distilled water the same as deionized water for car washing?

Both are low in minerals and both rinse spot free. Deionized water is the usual choice for wash bays. Distilled is also used, and we supply both.

How much deionized water does a detailer need?

It depends on how many vehicles you rinse. Many detailers start with a 210 L drum or a 1,000 L tote and refill on a schedule. Tell us your weekly volume and we will suggest a size.

Do you deliver to mobile detailers?

Yes. We deliver drums and totes to your shop or yard across the GTA, or you can pick up at our Mississauga plant.
