Why Hydration Is More Important Than You Think
Most of us know we should drink more water, but it is easy to let it slide during a busy day. Water helps your body control its temperature, move nutrients around and keep your mind sharp. Even mild dehydration can leave you tired, foggy and short tempered.
Signs you are not drinking enough
- Feeling thirsty or having a dry mouth
- Dark yellow urine
- Headaches or trouble focusing in the afternoon
- Feeling tired for no clear reason
How much water do you need?
There is no single number that fits everyone. A common starting point is about 2 to 3 litres of fluid a day for adults, from water, other drinks and food. You need more in hot weather, when you exercise, and if you work on your feet in a warehouse or on a job site.
Simple ways to drink more
- Keep a full bottle on your desk or in your truck
- Drink a glass of water with every meal
- Put a water cooler where people actually work, not just in the lunchroom
- Choose water that tastes good to you, because you will drink more of it
Hydration at work
Employers see the difference when water is easy to reach. Crews on hot shop floors and job sites need water close by, and office teams drink more when there is a cooler nearby. We deliver to warehouses and distribution centres, construction sites and offices, and we offer cooler rental across the GTA.
Spring or distilled?
Both are good for drinking. Spring water keeps its natural minerals and has a fresh taste. Distilled water is pure and clean tasting, with the minerals removed. Our comparison guide explains the difference.
